Half-day and full-day group hikes are offered from early mid-May through early October for hikers of all experience levels. Bring a small backpack with at least 2 liters of water (some situations require more), snacks, lunch, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and extra layers.

Payments: A deposit of 100% (full payment) is required to book a reservation, except big wall climbs where a 50% deposit is required.

Adventure Hike – El Capitan Loop
Available only on Sundays
Join a friendly Yosemite Mountaineering School Guide on this beautiful hike to El Capitan via the Valley Loop Trail. Bring your binoculars to spot climbers on one of the two hundred and fifty-two routes on this granite giant. This hike is six to eight miles, so be sure to bring lunch, plenty of water, sunglasses, sunscreen, and extra layers.

Duration: About 8 hours.
Ascent/Descent: Approximately 500 ft.

Full-Day Adventure Hike - Nevada Fall
Available only Tuesdays and Fridays
This hike will venture up one of the most popular trails in Yosemite Valley, the Mist Trail. One of our kind and helpful guides will lead this trip from our office in Curry Village, through Happy Isles and up to Vernal then Nevada Fall.
Distance: 6.5-8.5 miles.
Duration: About 8 hours.
Ascent/Descent: Approximately 2,500 ft.
Elevation Profile: Approximately 4,000 ft. to 6,000 ft. above sea level.

Bike-to-Hike Guided Group Tours
Whether you choose to rent a bike from us or bring your own, there’s no better way to explore Yosemite Valley’s floor. You’ll start your day with a bike ride past Yosemite’s most famous natural landmarks as you head to the trailhead. Once there, you’ll park your bike and begin your hike. Your guide will teach you about Yosemite’s natural history, geology and ecology along the way. Bicycle rentals are available at Curry Village and Yosemite Valley Lodge Bike Stands. The cost of bike rental is not included in the cost of the Bike-to-Hike program.

Discovery Hike Guided Tours
Set at a leisurely pace with plenty of time to pause for pictures or relaxation, Discovery Hikes are perfect for novice hikers—or anyone just to enjoy themselves in nature. There will be plenty of stops along the way to watch rock climbers, take pictures and just explore at your own pace. We keep the group sizes small and tailor them to the group’s interests and hiking level. Participants must be at least 12 years of age.
Please note the two different destinations:
- Mondays and Thursdays to the Vernal Fall Footbridge
- Wednesdays and Saturdays to the Mirror Lake Loop
Vernal Fall Footbridge (Mondays and Thursdays):
